A RUNNING CHAPTER

Story by Mark Hobson

Many years ago, a lycra clad cyclist thought it would be a great idea to trade in the carbon racing bike for a less expensive, simpler hobby. Little did I know 10 years down the line that I would still be lycra clad and would be spending more money than ever on this simple, “inexpensive” physical activity – races, carbon shoes are expensive!

Yet running would play such a central role in my life both physically, mentally, socially and geographically – and I’m beyond grateful for it. Over the years, it’s provided me with so many wonderful experiences, been able to join the marathon club (which I never thought I was capable of) and met so many great people along the way.

It’s an absolute joy and privilege to be part of this community and to be able to turn up and do this everyday. Sometimes times can be hard, but rewards are endless. If in doubt, in the words of the well sportswear brand – Just Do It. You’ll never regret that run but definitely will if you don’t.
