Story by Weslley Cordeiro
From the vibrant energy of Brazil to the diverse streets of Queens, my running journey began here. Born and raised in Brazil, I moved to New York City almost a decade ago, seeking new horizons and fresh opportunities. It was here that I discovered the power of running.
You see, running wasn’t something I grew up with back in Brazil.
It wasn’t until I found myself in Queens that I decided to embrace the roads, chasing a feeling I couldn’t quite describe.
Running became more than just a hobby, it became a lifeline. It has been my constant companion, guiding me through the highs and lows of life. Like training for a marathon, you know?
It’s taught me resilience in the face of adversity, perseverance in the pursuit of dreams, and the joy of embracing the journey, wherever it may lead. The sport introduced me to beautiful souls, whom I cherish deeply and who have become an integral part of my life.
The sense of connection within the running community is like nothing else, a support system that fuels my passion and keeps me going. It’s this bond and the opportunity to support both new and experienced runners that motivates me to keep running and to keep sharing my journey in the collective journey of achieving our goals, both on and off the track.
